There are 2 requirements to comply with the L.A. EBEWE Ordinance:

#1) Submit an Annual Energy Benchmark, rolled out in three phases:

• Buildings 100,000+ sq.ft. due by December 1, 2017 (City-Owned Buildings 7,500+ sq.ft.)

• Buildings 50,000+ sq.ft. due by June 1, 2018

• Buildings 20,000+ sq.ft. due by June 1, 2019 (every June 1st thereafter)

#2) Conduct an Energy Audit + Water Audit + Retro-Commissioning (RCx) every 5 years.

• Deadlines begin in 2019 for buildings 20,000+ sq.ft. (City-Owned Buildings 15,000+ sq.ft.)

DIY Benchmarking vs Getting Professional Help:

2018 Benchmark Deadline: June 1, 2018 (buildings 50,000+ sq.ft.)

• Option #2: Get Professional Help »​ (1-2 hours max. needed from you, $147-$258 turn-key cost)

A Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) ​is required to fulfill the Energy Audit + Water Audit + Retro-Commissioning requirements.
